The Audio-Technica ATH-DSR9BT are okay mixed usage headphones with good sound that set themselves apart by their looks and build quality. However, they might not offer the best value for Bluetooth headphones, especially since you can't use them passively and they take a very long time to charge. Beyerdynamic Amiron Wireless

The Audio-Technica ATH-DSR9BT Wireless and the Beyerdynamic Amiron Wireless are both closed-back Bluetooth headphones designed with audiophiles in mind. The Beyerdynamic have a better battery life, more Bluetooth codec options, including the lower-latency aptX-LL, and a companion app. However, they fit rather awkwardly and reproduce audio even less consistently than the Audio-Technica across different users.

Sony WH-1000XM3 Wireless

The Sony WH-1000XM3 Wireless are better and more versatile headphones than the Audio-Technica ATH-DSR9BT Wireless. They have a great noise cancelling feature, are more comfortable, and have a great companion app that offers plenty of controls and customization options. While the Audio-Technica have a better out-of-the-box sound profile, you can EQ the Sony with their app to suit your preferences. The Sony also have amazing battery life and can also be used wired with phones, which you can't do with a normal 1/8” cable with the Audio-Technica.

Bose QuietComfort 35 II/QC35 II Wireless 2018

The Bose QuietComfort 35 II/QC35 II Wireless 2018 are better and more-versatile headphones than the Audio-Technica ATH-DSR9BT Wireless thanks to their very comfortable fit and well-balanced and natural sound profile. The Bose are one of the best noise cancelling headphones we've reviewed so far, making them great for commuting or travel as well. Their battery lasts longer, and they take less time to fully charge than the Audio-Technica. You can also use them wired with a phone, even if the battery is dead, which is convenient. On the other hand, the Audio-Technica look and feel more premium overall, but the Bose are likely a better value for most people.

AKG N700NC Wireless

The AKG N700NC are overall better headphones than the Audio-Technica ATH-DSR9BT. The AKG are noise cancelling headphones that are decent at every use case, on top of having a very good audio reproduction. They offer about the same battery life, but take half the time to fully charge, which is nice. The AKG can also be EQ'ed in their app and be used wired with phones. On the other hand, the AKG have a bit of a plastic feel compared to the very well-built Audio-Technica. Overall, the AKG will offer better value.

Bowers & Wilkins PX Wireless

The Bowers & Wilkins PX Wireless are more versatile headphones for everyday casual use than the Audio-Technica ATH-DSR9BT are. The Bowers & Wilkins have a great noise cancelling feature, a longer battery life, and their metal build is very sturdy. On the other hand, the sound quality of the Bowers & Wilkins is more suited for bass-heavy genres. The Audio-Technica have a flatter frequency response and are more comfortable. However, they can't be used wired with phones since you can't use them with a 1/8” cable. The Bowers & Wilkins also offer more battery life and can connect to multiple devices simultaneously.

С первых секунд я влюбился в эти наушники. Качество исполнения приятно удивило, равно как и надежность. Все подогнано и собрано на твердую пятерку с плюсом, в конструкции наушников используется очень много металла.

Дужка выполнена из кожи. Традиционно для изделий мониторного типа, чаши наушников отличаются большими размерами. Благодаря этому среднестатистическое ухо полностью помещается под амбушюры без какого-либо дискомфорта.

Посадка наушников выполнена на высоком уровне – носишь наушники и просто кайфуешь. На голове сидят плотно, но не сдавливают её. При этом материалы изготовления не заставляют голову потеть.

Что касается амбушюр, то они также выполнены из кожи. Мембраны покрыты особым материалом Diamond-like Carbon.

Как нам известно, наполнение амбушюра влияет на его отражающие свойства. Чем плотнее и тверже он получится, тем больший контроль над басом удастся получить. В этой модели есть некий баланс – они и жесткие, и мягкие одновременно. Из-за этого мы не слышим долбежки в ушах, да это и хорошо.

Звуковые катушки намотаны проводом из бескислородной меди OFC-7N, что привело к лучшей проводимости, а в следствии, к повышению качества звучания, о котором мы поговорим немного позже.

Кроме того, чаши вращаются в двух направлениях, благодаря чему их реально удобно использовать людям с разным анатомическим строением головы. Подстраиваются под каждого за секунду.

Да и, в случае чего, всегда можно повесить на шею, развернув от себя. Так окружающие тоже смогут оценить вашу музыку, ибо играют они реально громко.

Отдельно отмечу удобство подключения наушников к смартфону или плееру. 3,5-мм кабель снимается, а значить в случае поломки покупать новые наушники не придется. Достаточно просто заменить провод.

Обе модели абсолютно одинаковы с виду, разве что наборы цветов разные. Их объединяет ещё кое-что: наушники очень крепко сидят в ухе. Будто клеем залили.

Подбираете амбушюры под себя, пропускаете дужки за ушами и забываете о наушниках напрочь. Не нужно волноваться, что они вывалятся. Я даже не могу придумать упражнение, во время которого ATH-SPORT70BT/ATH-SPORT50BT могут выпасть.

Не забывайте, что после тренировки их можно тупо помыть. Эти наушники — ещё один элемент экипировки, как шорты или майка. А вот элементы управления различаются: в младшей модели кнопки механические, в старшей сенсорные.

The ATH-DSR9BT over-ear wireless headphones employ Audio-Technica's new Pure Digital Drive system, which allows the headphones to operate without a sound-degrading D/A converter that conventional wireless headphones rely upon. Instead, the ATH-DSR9BT utilizes Trigence Semiconductor's Dnote chipset to receive the digital audio signal from a Bluetooth wireless transmission, process and transfer it to the driver where the digital pulses of the chipset move the voice coil and diaphragm forward and backward to create the sound waves heard by the listener.

The Pure Digital Drive system likewise depends on a re-engineered 45 mm True Motion Driver, which features a lightweight diaphragm with DLC (diamond-like carbon) coating for superlative fidelity and extended 5 Hz – 45,000 Hz frequency response. The driver's 4-core twisted OFC-7N voice coil provides precise control of the diaphragm displacement, and an acoustic resistor controls the airflow in front of and behind the diaphragm to ensure smooth, natural audio reproduction across the entire frequency range. The entire driver assembly is housed within a layered aluminum structure that minimizes unwanted resonance and isolates the electric circuitry from the housing's acoustic space, resulting in optimal phase and transient response.

The Pure Digital Drive system also enables the ATH-DSR9BT to overcome the sonic limitations of conventional Bluetooth wireless transmissions by supporting the 24-bit/48kHz Qualcomm aptX HD audio codec. Меломаны знают, что тестировать наушники нужно лишь от проверенного источника звука. Мы выбрали хорошо зарекомендовавший себя Astell&Kern KANN. И наушники, и плеер рождены в одну эпоху и вышли на рынок лишь в этом году, а значит оба устройства созданы друг для друга.

Вооружившись FLAC, раскачиваем ATH SR9 на средней громкости. Сразу же чувствуется нехарактерная для большинства серийных моделей детализация. Хорошо звучит и вокал, и гитара, и клавишные, и барабаны.

О басе хотелось бы поговорить отдельно. Любителей «навалить низов» ATH SR9 немного разочаруют. Японцы сыграли на универсальности, поэтому низкие частоты в модели звучат естественно и без характерного Drum&Bass перегруза.

А вот с тем, как ATH SR9 воспроизводит высокие частоты не сравнятся, пожалуй, ни одни наушники в классе. Каждый, прослушанный трек, звучит… индивидуально что ли.

В роке это проявляется на мозгодробильных быстрых гитарных рифах, в хип-хопе — на разборчивой читке и упругой середине, в классике — на ощущении собранности оркестра (дирижер из ARH SR9 что надо).

Приятно порадовало то, что с наушниками Audio-Technica ATH SR9 не пришлось играться эквалайзером Astell&Kern KANN. Они не просто играют «из коробки», они отлично звучат без программных «допилов». Достали, надели и они готовы к многочасовому музыкальному тест-драйву.

Okay for mixed usage. The Audio-Technica DSR9BT have a good audio reproduction but sound thin on vocals and leads, which will be better suited for bass-heavy music. They won't be a great option for commuting since they don't block out lower-end frequencies like engine rumbles. They also trap quite a bit of heat inside their ear cups, and the over-ear design won't be ideal for sports. On the other hand, they can be used at the office since they don't leak too much and have a good battery life. However, like most Bluetooth headphones, their latency might be a bit too high for watching TV and gaming.

Good for neutral listening. Their bass is powerful and decently well-balanced, their mid-range is mostly flat, and they have an excellent treble range performance. However, their bass is prone to inconsistencies across different users and is slightly boomy. There is also a big dip in their mid-range which will make vocals and lead instruments sound noticeably thin. Overall, these headphones will be good, but not ideal, for bass-heavy music. Also, the dip in mid-range will hurt most genres with vocals.

Commute/Travel

Passable for commuting. The Audio-Technica DSR9BT don't do much against plane and bus engine rumbles, which means noise will seep into your audio. Their bulky design is also a bit harder to travel around with, but the cups swivel to lay flat so you can wear them around your neck, or store them in their nice hard case. On the upside, they are quite comfortable and their 16-hour battery life should be more than enough during long rides and flights.

Okay for sports. These headphones are tight on the head and are fairly stable. However, this means they also trap quite a lot of heat inside their ear cups and would make you sweat more than usual when using them during physical activity. These headphones weren't designed for sports.

Passable for the office. They are comfortable to wear throughout a workday, although they might be a bit tight for people with larger heads. They have decent isolation against ambient chatter and A/C systems, and their 16-hour battery life should be long enough for a typical workday. You can also use them with their USB cable to get Hi-Res Audio when plugged into your work computer. They also don't leak too much so you shouldn't bother too much surrounding colleagues when playing music at high volumes.

Poor for gaming. When used wirelessly, these headphones won't be a good option for this use case due to their Bluetooth latency. Their microphone is also sub-par for online games. On the upside, if you don't need a mic, you can use them with their USB cable for Hi-Res Audio and eliminate the latency as well.

ATH SR9 рассчитаны на музыку из самых разных жанров и стилей. Они безошибочно «читают» звуковую картинку практически любых композиций и делают это по-своему.

Тем, кто не представляет жизни без сабвуфера и «дышащей» мембраны, я бы посоветовал проходить мимо. Эти наушники не созданы для низкочастотного насилия — это универсальная модель со своим характером.
